Del Ray Maupin, 52, of Indianapolis died January 10, 2017. Del was born March 5, 1964 in Landstuhl, Germany to Delbert and Kathryn Greaver Maupin. Beloved father, son, brother, uncle, (aka, Uncle Donkey) and friend, Del was preceded in death by his father Delbert Ray Maupin. He is survived by his Sons, James Tyler "J.T.", Brandon, and Joseph "Joey"; Mother, Kathryn Greaver Maupin; Sisters, Edie Cruz (Raniel) of Indianapolis, IN., and Suzanne Latour (Richard) of Ingals, IN.; Niece, Olivia Cruz, and his faithful dog, Onyx. Del worked as a truck driver and dispatcher for nearly twelve years until health problems made him unable to work. Del put his passion and work-ethic into being an activist, supporting NORML, and The Higher Fellowship. He served as secretary for both of these organizations, and helped spread the word for these groups to as many people as he could. Del was working toward a computer science degree when he became ill. Services for Del Ray Maupin are Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1:00p.m. At Franklin Road Baptist Church, 51 N. Franklin Rd., Indianapolis, IN. 46219.
