Duane D. McKay, 64, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019. He was born on February 6, 1955 in Greenfield, IN to Donald D. McKay and Helen (Matulica) McKay. He received his high school diploma from New Palestine High School in 1973, and went on to Butler University where he received his bachelor's degree in accounting. After completing his education; he married his wife Kim (DeVerter) McKay, and they have been by each other's sides for many years prior to Duane's passing. Duane was a hard worker, he spent much of his life as an accountant and served as the general manager of Broadmoor Country Club for 20 years. Most of all he was known for being the "Big Guy", having a witty sense of humor, and enjoyed the time he spent amongst family and close friends who will always remember him as a loving husband, father, brother, and dear friend.
Duane is survived by his wife, Kim McKay; daughter, Alexandra Elizabeth McKay; brother, Dave McKay; as well as many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may gather in Duane's memory on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 3:00 PM- 6:00 PM at Hendryx Mortuary - Cumberland Chapel, 11636 East Washington St., Indianapolis, IN, 46229, with a Celebration of Life at 6:00 PM following the visitation at the mortuary.
