Eugene Edward Krebs, 87, of Fairland, IN, passed away on June 22, 2017 at Waldron Health & Rehab Center. Eugene was born November 16, 1929, in Marion County, IN, to Edward and Bertha Krebs. After graduating from Franklin Township High School, he received his Bachelor's degree in accounting from Butler University. Upon completion of his education he worked for Ford Motor Company as an Accountant for 31 years until his retirement. After retirement, he continued to work making deliveries for a business in the community. He enjoyed watching college basketball, and was a big supporter of Butler University. He also enjoyed traveling, fishing, reading, and working on old automobiles.
Eugene is survived by his son, Eric Eugene (Marsha) Krebs; son, Evan Edward Krebs; step-daughter, Terry (David) Fuller; step-daughter, Tina (Pete) Peterson; step-son, Neal (Tracey) Miller; granddaughter, Emy Lorigan; great-grandchildren, Wrigley, Maddox, and Rahley; as well as his companion, Shirley Higginbotham.
In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Madelyn Krebs; his second wife, Dorcus Krebs; his son, Erin E. Krebs; as well as his grandson, Ethan Krebs.
Funeral services for Eugene will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Hendryx Mortuary – Cumberland Chapel, 11636 East Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, with also a visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 AM prior to service. Burial to follow at Orchard Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in Eugene's name to the Franklin Road Christian Church or to Butler University's Athletic Department, 530 W. 49th St., Indianapolis, IN, 46208.
