Geraldine Wessling, 90, of Cumberland went to be with the Lord on Sunday April 2, 2017. She was born on February 26, 1927 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Olaf and Jessie (Odom)Laslie. She was a graduate of Warren Central High School. She married Ralph V. Wessling on December 3, 1949. She was a homemaker, pie baker and game player. She was well known for her pies and special "pie crust." She loved cooking, doing puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed reading her bible and was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ.
"Geri" will be greatly missed by her 2 sons Gary (Paula) Wessling and Brent (Marlene) Wessling, 3 grandchildren; Amber (Tony) Hamilton, Ben and Lindsey Wessling, a great granddaughter Alexis Borer and a brother Jack (Judy) Laslie.
In addition to her parents and husband Ralph, Geraldine was preceded in death by her brother Jim Laslie and her 2 sons; Greg and Bruce Wessling.
Services for Geraldine will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11AM at Hendryx Mortuary, 11636 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229. Friends may visit on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 4PM-8PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Indianapolis with Sarah L.F.M. Hannigan to preside. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Geraldine's memory to The American Heart Association 208 S. LaSalle St., Suite 1500 Chicago, IL 60604. Envelopes are available at mortuary. Hendryx Mortuary is honored to serve the Wessling Family.
