Irma L. (Piel) Stickle, 93, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on July 9, 2018. Irma was born May 8, 1925, in Indianapolis, IN, to Edward Piel and Emma (Mithoefer) Piel. After completing her education, receiving her Bachelor's degree at Butler University, she worked for many years as a school teacher teaching Home Economics until the time of her retirement. She later met and married her husband, Harold "Bill" Stickle, and they have been happily married for 70 years. Irma had many joys in life, she loved her work with her students, she enjoyed sewing, she was the assistant organist for Saint John's U.C.C. for many years, and helping anyone who needed her, however, she found the most joy in the time she spent with her family and close friends; who will all miss her very much. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Lowell Stickle; daughter, Marilyn (Kalon) Watkins; son, Myron Stickle; nine grandchildren, Carissa (Mark) Marcheschi, Emily (Andy) Fry, Sarah (Charles) Savidge, Rachael Watkins, Carl (Casey) Watkins, Collin (Jessie) Watkins, Chad Watkins, Rebekah Watkins, and Kurt Watkins; and six great-grandchildren, Isabella Marcheschi, Domenico Marcheschi, Vanessa Marcheschi, Marco Marcheschi, Morgan Savidge, and Nova Fry. She is preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 15, 2018, from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at Hendryx Mortuary, Cumberland Chapel, 11636 East Washington St., Indianapolis, IN, 46229. Funeral services for Irma will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Hendryx Mortuaries – Cumberland Chapel, 11636 East Washington St., Indianapolis, IN, 46229.
