Mary Goff, 91, of Indianapolis, died peacefully at Franciscan Hospice House on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Born on June 20, 1926 to Verlon and Josephine Sanders Criss, Mary spent her early years in Terre Haute. She married Robert M. Goff on March 4, 1944 and they were blessed with 57 years of marriage, two children, and four grandchildren. A homemaker and beautician, for at least three decades Mary ran a beauty shop from her home. Born with a competitive spirit, over decades Mary amassed numerous bowling league trophies and continued to play into her 90s. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Mary is survived by her two children - Sheryl Schwier (husband, Roger) of Fountaintown, Ind. and Robert M. Goff, Jr. (wife, Cindy) of Greenwood, Ind.; four grandchildren – Carrie Schwier (husband, John Clark); Christian Schwier (wife, Shannon), Jeremy Goff (Heather Roberts); Justin Jaques (wife, Amanda) and her sister Vina (Grace) Smalec of Tampa, FL.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Albert Criss, Marion (Jack) Criss, and Verlon (June) Criss Jr.; and her husband Robert M. Goff.
Visitation will be at Hendryx Mortuary, 19 E. Main St., New Palestine, Indiana on October 11, 2017 from 11am-1pm . Burial will immediately follow at the New Palestine Cemetery.
