Army Emblem

Myra Anne (Clifton) Hunt, 85 of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on May 9, 2018. Myra was born on May 17, 1932, in Indianapolis, IN, to Franklin Clifton and Helen (Manning) Clifton. After completing her education, Myra proudly served her country in the United States Army during the Korean War until she was honorably discharged in 1951. She later met and married her husband Richard Wilmer Hunt, who preceded her in death on September 21, 1988. Myra owned and managed a retail store for many years and was known for her dedication and for being a hard worker. She also enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and dancing but found that her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her family; who to her would always come first in her life. She is survived by her three daughters, Tina Hunt, Sondra Hunt, and Sheri Robinson; five grandchildren, Megan (Tiffany) Hunt, Tasha Braswell, Mallory Hunt, James Robinson, and Alisha Tillett; as well as five great-grandchildren, Kadryn Williams, Kiyera Williams, Aiyana Williams, Lucas Robinson, and Colton Giovanni Hunt. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Helen Clifton; as well as her son, Richard Clifton Hunt. Funeral services for Myra, will be held Monday, May 14, 2018, at 12:00 PM at Hendryx Mortuaries, 11636 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the mortuary. Burial will follow in New Palestine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Myra's name to the American Cancer Society, 5635 West 96th Street Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
