Myrtle Mae (Runels) Manuel, 88, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on January 13, 2018. Myrtle was born December 28, 1929, in Liberty, KY, to Benjamin Doyle and Mae (Reynolds) Doyle. After completing her education, she later met and married her husband, Ollie J. Manuel, who precedes her in death. Myrtle worked for many years at Mechanic's Laundry until the time of her retirement in 1990. Myrtle had many joys in life; she loved to bake and prepare meals for her family and was also very active in her church. However she found that the greatest joy was the time she spent raising and caring for her family who will all miss her very much.
Myrtle is survived by her son, Garland J. (Judy) Manuel, Sr.; grandsons, Garland (Nikki) Manuel, Jr. and Zachary (Syndi) Manuel; great-grandson, Chase Manuel; nephew, Kenneth (Florence) Doyle; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Roy Doyle, Cecil Doyle, Lester Doyle, Oscar Doyle, Victor Doyle, Lester Farris, Chester Farris, George Farris; and her sisters, Verna Doyle, Edith Doyle, Flossie Doyle, Maude Doyle, Flora Doyle, Jess Farris, and Minnie Farris.
The visitation will be Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Hendryx Mortuary- Cumberland Chapel, 11636 East Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at 12:00 PM at the mortuary with burial following at Washington Park East Cemetery.
