Robert A. Applegate, 72, of New Palestine was called home to heaven on Saturday, March 11, 2017. He was born on March 28, 1944 to the late Robert M. and Niola B. (O'Donnell) Applegate. Robert attended Public School #58 Ralph Waldo and Emerson and graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School. After high school he served in the United States Navy. Robert had an avid love for all animals and especially his pets. He loved spending time with his grandkids.
Robert will be greatly missed by his 2 daughters Angela (Phillip) Parelius and Alisa "Sissy" (Brandon) Lynn, his brother Richard A. Applegate, his sister Rana (Robert ) Ball of California, 2 grandchildren Tyler and Hayley Lynn, niece Susan Culcasi and nephews Rob Ball and Jeff Rayman and several furry friends.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Arlene Applegate, several cousins and a nephew.
Services for Robert will be held on Saturday March 18, 2017 at 2PM at Hendryx Mortuary, 11636 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229. Friends may visit the mortuary from 12PM until time of service. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery with Military honors. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in Robert's memory to Mended Hearts Rescue P.O. Box 36868 Indianapolis, IN 46236, Every Dog Counts Rescue P.O. Box 108 Zionsville, IN 46077 or FACE Low Cost Clinic 1505 Massachusetts Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46201.
