Robert Lee Harper, 85 of Indianapolis died 2-15-2017. He was born on November 22,1931 in Paris, Illinois to the late Clyde and Ruth(Griffin) Harper. He was a proud member of the Paris H.S. Class of 49. Robert served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as
a Senior Control Tower Operator. He was employed with Western Electric for 35 years as a Supervisor and Engineering Associate. He was a member, Sunday School teacher, and lay leader with the Carrollton United Methodist Church. He was a member of the
(AMA) Academy of Model Aeronautics and the America Legion. He was a skilled craftsman making dulcimers and Native American Flutes.
Visitation will be on Sat., Feb. 18th from 10 a.m to 12 noon at Hendryx Mortuary in New Palestine. A celebration of life will be conducted at 12 noon at the Hendryx chapel.
Bob is survived by his wife JoAnn Smith Harper, daughters Pam Dykes (Tom), Angela Morton, Valerie Henderson, sons Mark Harper (Joyce) and Bryan Harper (Vickie), 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Services for Mr. Harper are Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Hendryx Mortuary-New Palestine Chapel, 19 E. Main St. New Palestine, IN. 46163 with visitation from 10:00a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, please hug your family and friends. Hendryx Mortuary is honored to be assisting Mr. Harper's family.
